Biography

I received my B.S. in computer engineering degree from Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey, in 1997 and my  M.S. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY, in 1999. Shortly after starting my Ph.D. in UC Santa Barbara, I gave a break and joined Ericsson as a software/firmware engineer, where I worked on development of 3rd generation Tigris routers. Since 2002, I am continuing my Ph.D., again at U.C. Santa Barbara, under the supervision of Prof. Chandra Krintz. My expected graduation date is December, 2006.

Research

My broad interest is embedded systems, their architecture, operating systems and applications. In particular,  I am interested in developing full-system power models and reducing energy consumption of sensor network gateways. Please see our project web page.
