Research

I joined UCSB in the fall of 2000 after finishing my B.Tech.(Hons) from IIT Kharagpur in Computer Science & Engineering. I finished my MS (thesis) here with Subhash Suri in Winter 2003, with results in some graph theory problems. After my MS, I moved back to India in April 2003, and took up my first job in Hyderabad.

As of now, I'm working with Teofilo Gonzalez on some graph theory and computational geometry problems. Most of my present and past research has been focussed on problems motivated by link/node failure recovery mechanisms in communication networks. The computational geometry problems we study deal with finding good bridges to connect two simple polygons in the plane.

I recently (Dec 2008) defended my Ph.D. thesis, titled Establishing Alternate Routes in Networks and Routes Between Polygons in 2D Space.
Here are the slides of my thesis defense presentation.
