Welcome to our Alumni Services help section. This page is designed to quickly direct you to the resources you need to get and maintain a Computer Science alumni account.

The Most Frequently Asked Questions

Who is eligible for an account?
Only Computer Science graduate (masters and PhD) students who have sucessfully completed their program within the last year are eligible.

What can I do with an account?
We offer a shell account, an email account (which you can forward), and web page hosting (or redirection). As long as you stay within the bounds of the Acceptable Use Policy you can do whatever you like.

How is this account different from the account I have as a student?
The alumni account is a completely seperate account from the Departemntal account you had/have as a student. As such, any data in your student account will not be transferred. Also, recieving an alumni account is not automatic - you must apply for it.

When should I apply for an account?
The best time to apply for an account around graduation - preferably while you are still on campus.
You cannot create an alumni account if you completed your degree over a year ago.

How to I apply for an account?
The account application procedure has two steps:

Apply for an account.
Once an application has been approved, you will need to activate it.

How long does my account last? or When will my account expire?
Alumni accounts do not have an expiration date like most other accounts. We do require that you change your password at least once a year. This is done to make sure that accounts do not go unused for a long period of time. If you do not change your password, we will assume that you do not need (or want) it and your account will be disabled and eventually deleted.

How do I update my account information?
To change your account information - including password, mail forwarding, and contact/directory information go to the Account Maintence section.
